Can you see me now?

Yesterday was an eventful doctors visit for Ella and her eyes. For anyone who has seen, even if just in a picture, our little girls eyes then you will know that they are BEAUTIFUL!! They are a great color of blue and have long eyelashes to frame them. However, the insides and workings of them is a little off. Ella has a severe lazy right eye and now we have found out she actually has trouble seeing and focusing out of either eye. We now have to patch her "good" eye (the left one) for 30 min - 2 hours every day...this will hopefully strengthen the right eye muscles and MAKE it work better. Also, her vision is pretty bad. At this point they think she has a severe farsighted problem, but I don't understand enough to tell you many details on this. They need her eyes to be stronger muscularly before they can determine a good prescription. Why? you ask my they need a prescription...bc baby might be sporting some adorable baby glasses here in the next couple of months. We are also looking at a corrective surgery for her lazy eye, but we are working with the patch first. Also, we are scheduling today to see a retina specialist to get a better read on her actual level of vision at the moment. She's sleeping right now, but as soon as she wakes up we start the first round of patching.

Prayer Requests:
  • that the patching goes well...it can be traumatizing for a child to have their "good" eye covered up, please ask God to make this a smooth ordeal for Ella (and mommy)
  • that patching is effective...this is in God's timing, but that we start to see results quickly
  • that surgery is not necessary...that the patching corrects the problems
  • that Joe and I are patient and calm in the Lord's desires for Ella and what her testimony is through all of these struggles

I will be praying for sure! My cousin had to wear glasses at a young age too. She grew up normal and beautiful :-)
